Final Thoughts: The LA Clippers head home in their seemingly unwinnable First Round series against the Golden State Warriors with a surprise, record-breaking victory under their belt.
The two-time defending champs cruised to a 121-104 win in Game 1. Steph Curry went off for 38 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists.
A 4-0 sweep loomed – particularly when Golden State led by 31 points in the third quarter of Game 2. But the Clippers rallied spectacularly to win 135-131, pulling off the biggest comeback in NBA playoffs history.
Lou Williams had 36 points and 11 assists off the bench, while Patrick Beverley’s niggling defensive tactics got under the Warriors’ skin.
The Warriors have won 17 of their last 20 against the Clippers, including eight of their last nine at Staples Center.
During the regular season the Clippers bagged a 121-116 OT win at home in November. The Warriors responded with a 112-94 victory at Staples in January.
The Clippers are 26-15 at home this season and have won 12 of their last 15 at Staples. Golden State are 27-14 on the road and have won seven of 10 away since the start of March. But the Warriors have covered only six of their last 16 as favourite on the road.
The Clippers are being afforded a very handy start and look the best bet in line betting here.
