Final Thoughts: The Milwaukee Bucks head back home looking to wrap up their Eastern Conference Semi-finals series against the Boston Celtics in Game 5.
The Celtics landed what looked to be a crucial blow with a 112-90 Game 1 upset in Milwaukee. But Boston have had trouble combating Giannis Antetokounmpo since then.
Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton combined for 57 points in an emphatic 123-102 victory in Game 2.
‘The Greek Freak’ then took the reins solo in Boston, going off for 32 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists as the Bucks prevailed 123-116 in Game 3. He then put up 39 points and 16 rebounds in a 113-101 result in Game 4.
The Celtics face a tall order keeping their season alive – particularly given they have won only one of their last seven in Milwaukee.
The Bucks are 36-9 at home this season.
Kyrie Irving’s impact has been blunted since a standout showing in the Celtics Game 1 win. He has averaged 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in the three games since, but his field goal percentage has been under 30 percent.
It’s impossible to go past the home side here, with the Bucks’ momentum and the contrasting form of Giannis and Kyrie painting a grim picture for the Celtics.
The Bucks are giving away plenty of points. But with sizeable margins the trend in this series they should cover on their way to the Conference Finals.
