With the league taking a break, get your NBA tips for the three big events of the All Star Weekend – the Three Point Contest, the Slam Dunk Contest and Team LeBron v Team Giannis.

NBA Tips – Three Point Contest

10:30 (AEDT), Sun 17th Feb @ Spectrum Center, Charlotte

Phoenix’s Devin Booker is back to defend his Three Point Contest crown and sits on the second line of betting at $6.00 to become the first player since Jason Kapono (2007 and ’08) to go back-to-back.

But Golden State superstar Steph Curry is the clear $3.00 favourite in his first appearance since 2016. That year he was defeated as defending champ by teammate Klay Thompson. Younger brother Seth Curry ($7.00) is a dark horse in his Three Point Contest debut.

The Nets’ Joe Harris ($7.00) has the best three-point percentages of any player in the field at 47.1%. Seth Curry is just behind at 46.5%.

Hornets talisman Kemba Walker ($15) will have hometown support and Blazers gun Damian Lillard ($9.00) is enticing value.

Tip: Result – Joe Harris @ $7.00

NBA Tips – Slam Dunk Contest

10:30 (AEDT), Sun 17th Feb @ Spectrum Center, Charlotte

The Slam Dunk Contest is arguably a more iconic part of the weekend than the actual All-Star game itself. But the four-man field for the 2019 event is one of the lowest-profile on record.

Donovan Mitchell took the honours in 2018, beating out Victor Oladipo, Larry Nance Jr and Dennis Smith Jr.

Smith Jr is the only returning aerial specialist – and the $2.50 favourite to win it. The Knicks youngster goes up against the Hornets’ Miles Bridges ($3.00), the Hawks’ John Collins ($5.00) and the Thunder’s Hamidou Diallo.

The 21-year-old Collins looks the best value here, producing some massive jams in his season and a half in the league.

Tip: Result – John Collins @ $5.00

NBA Tips – Team LeBron V Team Giannis

13:00 (AEDT), Mon 18th Feb @ Spectrum Center, Charlotte

Team LeBron edged out Team Steph 148-145 last season in the first All Star game after the format change from the traditional East v West showdown. ‘King’ James’ are warm favourites to overwhelm Team Giannis in Charlotte, giving up a 6.5-point start.

Antetokounmpo has drafted a strong line-up, joined in the starting five by Joel Embiid, Paul George, Kemba Walker and last year’s captain Stephen Curry. But LeBron’s outfit looks more stacked with Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, James Harden and Kyrie Irving starting.

Aussie Ben Simmons is on a Team LeBron bench that includes Anthony Davis, Damian Lillard and Klay Thompson.

Six of the last nine All Star games have been decided by five points or less. Last year’s clash was the first in five years to produce less than 300 points. For big value consider a Team LeBron/Under double at $4.60.

Tip: Margin – Team LeBron 1-10 @ $2.60
