Our Tuesday NBA playoffs preview highlights Game 4 between the Toronto Raptors and Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Semi-finals, along with tips for all other matches being played today.
10:30 (AEST), Tue 8th May @ Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland
History: Played 99: Cavaliers 59 V Raptors 40.
Last meeting: May 5, 2018: Cavaliers 105 d Raptors 103 at Quicken Loans Arena.
Final Thoughts: LeBron James is undeniably occupying prime real estate in the Toronto Raptors’ heads as the Cleveland Cavaliers stand just one win away from a series cleansweep and a place in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals.
LeBron has been unstoppable in the three games against the Raptors so far, notching a triple-double in a one-point overtime win in Game 1 and going off for 43 points and 14 rebounds in a 128-110 result in Game 2 as the Cavs took a devastating 2-0 lead back to Cleveland.
The Raptors improved via a fourth-quarter rally in Game 3, but the Cavaliers held on for a 105-103 victory with King James producing an incredible buzzer-beater amongst a 38-point haul.
The slump of Toronto superstar DeMar DeRozan – who had just eight points in Game 3 – is symbolic of the Eastern Conference top seed’s plight.
The Cavs have now won 14 of their last 16 against the Raptors, including the last nine straight playoff games between the franchises in the past three post-seasons, and 11 of the last 12 the teams have played in Cleveland.
It’s been a soul-destroying series so far for the Raptors and it’s hard envisaging them scraping themselves off the hardwood sufficiently to extend their season another game against a red-hot James and the Cavs.
