Extra smart Class 3 this but on form displayed thus far, this lightly raced galloper VINEYARD is shaping up to be pretty handy. He may well develop into a midweek grade galloper. He’s up in class here but has won 2 of past 3 and won them with authority. Will find a great spot and should surge late. We love horses on the rise and who show clear signs they are improving with racing.
Interesting race with a good few chances. We like the Darren Weir filly BELLE XAAR because she is getting better with racing also, and this trip looks ideal. Up on pace when close 4th BM 64 but in city last start. This is probably a length or so easier and given she’s drawn in gate 2, she should receive run of race. Should be strong late.
Tip: BELLE XAAR
We realise SIR MAGIC has a big weight but gee he is a fair bit better than these on exposed form. And when horses come back in class they near;y always fire up. What remains to be seen is if he can get up and running and be at that high level here. To help him, he does do well this journey, the boy on top, Chris Williams, is in rare form, and the horse won a harder race when 2nd up last campaign. He is 2nd up here too. So a fair few things point to him claiming this from WASHINGTON GEORGE. Big show here.
