Good rendition of the Cup here with last year’s first 2 home, DUCA VALENTINOIS and SEDANZAR returning to battle again. They both look well placed and can place, but we think COOL CHAP might prove too good for both of them. He’s a seasoned campaigner at this level and this journey and he should find a good lane during the race as many go back early. If you overlook his last start 2000m failure, then he boasts the best recent form.
Tip: COOL CHAP
Very tough race but we like the way ANECDOTE has come back this campaign. He has form around the fancied AFTER ALL THAT and that horse has form around BRAZEN so we can tie them all in. Anecdote is 4th up here and now a 7YO he has shown he needs that many runs to get him ready. He chased home Cradle Mountain last start, when that horse was running a super fast 1200m, and did not shirk his task finishing 4th. Cradle Mountain would be a $1.40 chance to win this.
There will be a good bit of speed on here and that should break the field up a bit allowing SISKEN to find a spot. She can slot in about 4th and if she gets cover, which she should, then she can sprint too well late. Has form in better grade when racing in Sydney last year and there was merit in her first up 5th this grade at Ballarat. Big show here.
