Preview – G1 Makybe Diva Stakes

Has developed into a genuine Gr 1 star and a grand performer. Has now won his past four starts including a very gutsy win when travelling wide against a similar field last start. Loves the mile and is very hard to beat here.

Will take a power of beating. Given how this race will be run, he should make the running and now that he has one run under his belt he has tightened up and is ready. If he turns for home in front, which he probably will, they won't catch him int his.

Tough as nails stayer but just can't seem to win a race. Has raced six times in Australia and been placed in Gr 1 Melbourne Cup and Gr 1 Australian Cup, plus last start before spell was 3rd to Mr Brightside in Gr 2 Feehan this trip. Has recently trialled. Will need the run.

Handy type at this level and may have his foot on the till. Saying that, it would be a shock if he won but to me no great surprise to finish hard and be in about 3rd or 4th. Is 3rd up here and suited to this tempo.

Scratched last start when I thought he'd run well. Is 2nd up here and has the makings of a Melbourne Cup horse. If so, sprinting hard at the back end of this is likely. Can run into a placings.

Very talented and is a smart miler. Needed both his runs when not far away at this level. Is better suited at this track and trip and will be rushing home hard.

Superstar mare who has run two blinders at this level since resuming. Just beaten by Mr Brightside last start. Much, much fitter now and is going to love this track. Huge chance.
