Matty is back alongside Adam McGrath and Chris Roots for the final Group 1 meeting of the Australian racing season, as Tattersall’s Tiara Day brings the curtain down on the Queensland Winter Carnival at Eagle Farm. With a quality card headlined by the Group 1 Tattersall’s Tiara, there’s plenty to dissect as some of the country’s best mares battle it out over 1400 metres.
The boys dive straight into the feature, where an intriguing and open field has assembled for this year’s Tattersall’s Tiara. Much of the attention centres around Tuileries, who comes into the race off an impressive last-start victory and has drawn favourably, while Splash Back brings elite form and plenty of market support despite questions around conditions. They also discuss the chances of Manaal, who looks set to improve second-up, emerging filly Within The Law, who drops back to 1400 metres after a strong winter campaign, and local hopes including Abounding and Gerringong, who are both capable of making their presence felt in a wide-open Group 1 contest.
