Round 10 of the 2026 NRL season saw many highlights and lowlights, headlined by a golden point win by the Parramatta Eels.
EELS WIN IN GOLDEN POINT
The North Queensland Cowboys may have been celebrating Jason Taumalolo breaking the club’s all-time appearances record but the historic moment was spoiled by Mitchell Moses and the Parramatta Eels.
Behind by eight points late into the contest, the Eels scored two quick tries down the right edge to Jordan Samrani and Joash Papalii to even up the scores and send the match into extra-time.
It was here where Moses slotted a field goal through the goal posts despite a reckless charge down attempt from Scott Drinkwater to emerge victorious.
Meanwhile, Tom Dearden has been ruled out for up to six weeks with an ankle injury, making him unavailable for selection for Game One of the 2026 State of Origin series.

LATRELL 2.0 EMERGES FOR BUNNIES
Latrell Mitchell may have been a late omission for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in their match against the Cronulla Sharks on the weekend, but a new ‘Latrell’ has emerged and took centre stage in their hard-fought victory against the Sharks.
In his first-ever NRL match, Latrell Siegwalt played a starring role in the side’s victory with his silky footwork, nice steps and quick speed, as well as winger Alex Johnston, who crossed for a hat-trick down the edge of the field.
“He’s very skilful and didn’t look out of place so I’m very proud of him,” captain Cameron Murray said.
“I think it just speaks volumes about the culture that we’ve got at this place and the depth and the trust that we have in our players and the development that we’ve instilled in players like Latrell.
“He came over here in the pre-season and has been knocking at the door ever since day one. “He got an opportunity tonight and he took it with both hands.
“(I’m) really proud of what he was able to do out there tonight stepping into big shoes as well but he was his own player out there and did what he needed to do for his teammates.”

DRAGONS REMAIN WINLESS
After ten rounds, the St George Illawarra Dragons remain winless and had arguably their worst performance of the season, in which they were completely destroyed by a Kalyn Ponga-led Newcastle Knights outfit.
Losing 44-10 in front of their home fans in Wollongong, the Dragons were out of the game from the opening kick-off and never looked competitive, as they were completely blown out.
Not only did they allow Knights winger Greg Marzhew to score five tries with their inconsistent defensive lines but they struggled to form anything in attack and kept going sideways instead of going forward and taking on the defenders.
“I thought we got off to a good start. We completed our first seven sets and we were in the cycle, and then we gave a penalty away for being offside, and then we got the edge defence wrong and they went down and scored the other end,” Dragons interim coach Dean Young said.
“From there, it got pretty ugly in the first half. It was pretty hard to sit through, but I asked it for a response from the players at halftime.
“It was 32-0 at halftime and we lost the second half, 12-10, so I’m happy with the response.”
