Round 23 Preview

The Rabbitohs enter the match as underdogs but unfortunately won’t be able to handle the red-hot Storm as they will still be without several of their key players due to injury.

Since arriving onto the scene, Storm winger Wil Warbrick has been in magnificent form and will be eager to maintain it heading into the NRL Finals series that are closely approaching.

While the Titans have been in consistent form over the past two weeks it’s hard to see them get the wood over the higher-placed Sharks who are surprisingly the underdogs.

With the Sharks having the top-four in their sights and the Titans having the top-eight in their sights, a close encounter from both teams can be expected in a semi-low-scoing match.

Since Nathan Cleary has re-entered the team, the Panthers have been unbeatable and look on track to win their fourth title in a row.  One can expect a high-scoring match with the away side scoring at least 40 points.

Linked with an exit from the Panthers, winger Brian To’o will be hoping to put a week of media attention behind him and get back to his try-scoring best this weekend.

Coming to the close of his career, veteran Jordan Rapan is literally playing for his future in every game until the end of the season and if he keeps scoring tries the Raiders will attempt to keep him at the club.

Although the Raiders lost last week, they looked strong against the Bulldogs and will have more to prove than their opponents as they play in front of their home fans this weekend.

Lacking form over the past couple of weeks, Reece Walsh needs a magnificent performance to show he is still one of the game’s best fullbacks especially with the absence of Payne Haas and Ezra Mam.

It is do-or-die for the Broncos! The Broncos need to win their next four matches if they have any chance of making the top eight beginning with the clash against the Cowboys.

Last week, Bulldogs captain Stephen Crichton stood up in the big moments and crossed the line twice. In another big clash, expect the exact same from the three-time premiership winner and club’s skipper.

In a crucial top-eight match between the two rivals, the Dragons enter the match having upset the Storm last week. However, the Bulldogs have remained consistent throughout the whole season.

A target of many kicks, winger Jack Bostock has used his height to his advantage this season and been able to outleap his opposing winger.

Playing at home, the match is a must-win for The Dolphins if they are any chance of making the NRL finals, so expect them to bring their best foot forward this weekend.

Since the departure of Dominic Young, Greg Marzhew has stood up for the Knights and been one of their top tryscorers on the wing. As the Tigers continue to leak easy tries to wingers, expect Marzhew to grab the opener.

The Newcastle Knights are near unbeatable at their home venue but the Tigers showed resilience against the Cowboys last week and will be hoping to remain in the game as they look to stay off the bottom of the ladder.
