Round 11 Preview

Despite the Bulldogs winning two of their past three games and going into the game as favourites, the Raiders are coming off a strong win against the Sea Eagles and are surprisingly considered the outsiders.

While either team could walk away with the two points, a low-scoring game should be expected between the two clubs as their attacking style of play has not been as good as it can be, recently.

The Broncos may be without star fullback Reece Walsh, but that isn’t likely to stop them from winning the match. They still boast an incredible team and will be eager to impress in front of their home crowd.

With no Reece Walsh in the team, winger Deine Mariner will be hoping to lead the team on the outside of the field. Known for his quickness and speed, Mariner is unstoppable if given free space to roam in.

Centre Bradman Best showed his skill and talent last weekend for the Knights, scoring a double. With a NSW Blues jersey on the line, a double from Best will make him a near certainty for State of Origin selection.

The Titans may have pulled off an upset last week, but they will be without even more players this week – Phil Sami, Harley Smith-Shields, AJ Brimson and Kieran Foran all remain on the sidelines. Without a number of players, the Knights should beat them with ease.

Even without Nicho Hynes last weekend, the Sharks were able to pull off an amazing win against the Melbourne Storm away from home. With the star halfback returning, it’s hard to understand why they aren’t considered favourites this round against the Roosters.

Dominic Young had his best game for the Roosters last week, scoring a double. Playing against a high-quality outfit in Round 11, the winger will be looking to add to his try-scoring tally and move up the leaderboard.

Jacob Gagai hasn’t played a game since the opening game of the season in Las Vegas, but in that match, he was able to cross the line for two tries. Called up to the NRL again, he will be expected to have plenty of the ball.

The Rabbitohs are in desperate need of a win to turn around their lacklustre and disappointing season. With multiple players back in the team, this week could be Ben Hornby’s first win as head coach.

The Warriors struggled last week against the Sydney Roosters. Add in that they will lose halfback Shaun Johnson, and the Panthers will run away with an easy victory against them.

With the Panthers set for a big victory, Dylan Edwards will have a big night ahead of him especially considering he will have the keys to the goal-kicking.

Taking the reins from Clinton Gutherson in the fullback spot last week, Blaize Talagi showed glimpses of brilliance in the jersey and was seen as the long-term successor of the club’s skipper. He will be eager to continue his perfect form this weekend.

One of the best in-form teams in the NRL, the Storm are nearly unbeatable at the moment and will be looking to prove a point against the Eels, who are still without star halfback Mitchell Moses.

Returning to the team this week from injury, it is hard to go past betting on Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow as an anytime tryscorer.

Staying with the anytime tryscorer market, the Wests Tigers have struggled recently on their wings, allowing the opposing to cross the line with ease – shown by the Knights last week. This will open the door for Jack Bostock to cross for a four-pointer.
