That’s another week of the 2019-20 NBA season in the books. One the Lakers went through unbeaten despite LeBron James and Anthony Davis missing time.

ROY Race: Over

Zion Williamson opened the 2019-20 NBA season as a significant Rookie of the Year favourite. While he’s close to making his debut, it will come too late for him to be considered for the award.

In his place, Ja Morant has taken the league by storm to fly up to the first line of betting at $1.40. He’s averaging 18 points, 3.3 rebounds and 6.8 assists shooting 48.8% from the field and 38.7% from beyond the arc. Morant is already one of the best dunker’s in the league and his handles seem to be making highlights packages every week.

Recently compared to Russell Westbrook, Morant is on a superstar path. However, unlike the 12-year veteran, Morant is all but certain to begin his career as Rookie of the Year.

Lakers Streaking

It’s not too much of a surprise to hear the Los Angeles Lakers have embarked on another winning streak. Their latest is up to eight with their lead at the top of the Western Conference extending to five games. What makes this streak so impressive is the eighth win came without LeBron James AND Anthony Davis.

Kyle Kuzma finished with 36 points as the undermanned Lakers beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 125-110. A group so many have questioned beat a form team in the Thunder and kept the winning streak alive. Still behind the LA Clippers in the NBA Championship market at $4.50, this win will give punters plenty of confidence in the supporting cast moving forward.

Thunder – A Favourite For Punters

Speaking of streaking, the Thunder’s eight-game winning streak against the spread came to an end in that loss to the Lakers. They entered as -9 favourites at home but were comprehensively beaten straight up. Nevertheless, the Thunder have been doing a job for punters. They top the Against the Spread standings with a 26-13 record, covering at an impressive 66.7%.

Comeback Kyrie

It wasn’t looking good for Kyrie Irving this time last week. Talk of surgery and being out for the reason of the season left the Brooklyn Nets staring at a wasted 12 months. However, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, he’s getting ready to make his comeback against the Atlanta Hawks.

Irving’s potential return sees the Nets come in as $1.30 and +7.5 favourites. He will no doubt be on a minutes restriction, though. It’s best to be careful getting behind the Nets too much with Irving needing time to get his feet under him. The Nets (17-20) are 13-13 without Irving on the court this season.

NBA ATS Standings

The San Antonio Spurs are finally off the bottom!

Covering just three of their last 14 games, the Detroit Pistons take over as the worst team for NBA punters. Avoid this rabble at all costs. Particularly while Andre Drummond’s future is clouded until the trade deadline.
