The daily NBA preview takes it to the rim as in-form rivals the Houston Rockets and Indiana Pacers lock horns at Toyota Center.
12:00 (AEDT), Sat 16th Nov @ Toyota Center, Houston
History: Played 93: Rockets 56 V Pacers 37
Last meeting: November 11, 2018: Rockets 115 d Pacers 103 at Toyota Center
Final Thoughts: Two handy winning streaks go on the line as the big-name Houston Rockets host the impressive Indiana Pacers.
The 8-3 Rockets are on a five-game winning run, most recently putting away the heavyweight Clippers 102-93.
James Harden has averaged over 40 points across those five outings, while Clint Capela has pulled down 20 rebounds in three straight games.
After losing their first three, the Pacers have crafted a 7-4 record. They are currently on a four-game tear, including a 111-85 beatdown of the Thunder three days ago.
Indiana have been impressive without soon-to-return talisman Victor Oladipo. Domantas Sabonis has been a monster on the boards, while TJ Warren has been a big improver at small forward.
The Rockets have won eight of their last 11 against the Pacers, including the last four straight.
Last season the teams’ two clashes were staged in the space of six days. Houston won 98-94 at home and 115-103 in Indianapolis. Harden dominated with 40 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists in the latter.
The Rockets are 4-1 at home this season; the Pacers are 2-3 on the road.
Expect the Rockets to be too strong at Toyota Center, but the plucky Pacers should keep it close.
