Back to just mares here is a good move for SPLITTER who resumes in this. Likes to drive forward and settle on or near speed and her best results have been by doing that over say 1350m. So we know she is fast and can keep fighting. They are terrific attributes when resuming. Has won at this grade and has form in Class 6 races. Plus, and this is perhaps the biggest thing, the stable just keeps winning and winning.
Wow, both ends of the spectrum here. A topweight in form with a massive weight drawn next to a bottom weight who just won his maiden. Both HIGH HOPPER who has now won past two, and BLAZEN DIAMOND who came home hard to win his maiden last start, have credentials based on the speed of the race and being in form. I do think High Hopper will have to work with his weight today making him a tad vulnerable for Blazen Diamond, who can get home, is 3rd up here as opposed to the other bloke who has been up for an eternity. Interesting race. Quinella the pair.
Tip: BLAZEN DIAMOND
Sydney galloper SEE THE MASTER has run his past two races in BM70 grade and run them well. Both times he got back and made ground late. Drops in class here but up in weight. Still, is much much fitter now and this long straight will suit. Looks perfectly placed to win his first Aussie start. Actually looks the bet of the day.
