Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at today’s meetings and singles out his three top horse racing tips, from Doomben, Balaklava & Belmont. Good luck, punters!

Quite often when Chris Waller sends horses north to race in QLD, they find their mark and win. CORMAC is one of the latest sent up there. He is 2nd up here so is fresh enough to enjoy the trip. Drawn perfectly so sits just off the speed and comes hard late. CHAR CHAR  was very strong when 2nd two runs back, rates highly too.  They look the quinella.

Tip: CORMAC

The money will come for toppie CIROC and he will run well. But I like the lightly raced SMILING ASSASSIN who has shown ability in 2 starts thus far. He is bred to stay and is a product of his breeding, in-so-much as he likes to get back then make a charge. Both starts have resulted in 3rd placings in this grade so we know he is capable. And one of them was at this track. This is his first step up to a trip that should suit his pedigree and he should storm over the top of these. Have Ciroc for 2nd.

Tip: SMILING ASSASSIN

Lots of hopes here. Many horses in form and racing consistently. One of them is the toppie HEAVENLY AFFAIR. Not sure if she was named after an illicit dalliance but either way, she should make you feel good today. Has been runner-up this grade twice from past 3 starts and has the ideal draw. Drew wide here last start and was beaten a lip. Oh and the name – her mum is Parc D’amour, which is French and when translated means – love park!
