Form student, RIC CHAPMAN, takes a look at today’s meetings and singles out his three top horse racing tips, from Doomben and Ascot. Good luck, punters!

You just had to love the way this unraced charge BALLISTIC BOY hit the line in his trial recently. He’s by Smart Missile and he just looks so strong. The horse who was 4 lengths behind him in the trial, just came out and placed on debut in a 2YO. This bloke’s mum is by High Chaparral and won 4 races. SPIRIT ESPRIT trialled well and is the one for 2nd spot if you like an Exacta.

Ascot R5 – Class 3 Hcp 1100m

When BEAUTIFUL MIND (by So You Think) sat off the pace and won her maiden by a widening 1.5 lengths in December, she was stamped impressive. But then 2 months later, at Ascot, she resumed in a Class 1 and led all way to win by nearly 4 lengths. She is clearly highly talented and being drawn the middle of the pack here means she can scoot and lead if needs be, or hook in with cover. Looks fool-proof.

Tip: BEAUTIFUL MIND

The very speedy 4YO mare DINNIGAN used to be trained by Gai and Adrian in Sydney. She always led but other than a provincial maiden win, she was always run down. Connections have sent her to QLD looking for easier wins for her resume. She’s by Snitzel so has a future in the barn to look forward to. Anyway, has had time to really mature up in the QLD sunshine and did win a trial ridiculously easily recently. From this good 4 gate should ping and burn rubber early. Probably goes too fast to catch.
