I really like APPALACHIAN in this. He looks talented for this level. He’s only had 2 starts for trainer David Jolly and after winning on debut in a mdn where he sat back over 1050m and stormed home, he was spelled. After 2 good trials he was then heavily backed when resuming in a BM60, like this, and he was a strong finishing 4th. But again was a mile back early. Is fitter now, gets an extra 200m and all things being equal, he finishes over the top of them.
This mare AMICITIA, who is trained by Tony Gollan and today ridden by Jim Byrne, looks progressive. Might even be smart. She’s only had 5 starts to date and has won two of them. But it’s the way she wins. She sits back then rounds up her rivals and charges late to win impressively. Not been this far yet and is up in grade but her finishing power suggests if close enough, and with clean air late, she can pounce yet again. LOLA’S DIAMOND can battle away for 2nd. Good race.
WEST FIFTY FOURTH resumes here but does look well in. So far in his career he has resumed on 4 occasions and boasts a very strong first-up record. He’s won and placed on each occasion. Goes well this journey too. Looks to slot in midfield then come with a rush. is very well bred too. So down the running, I suspect her staying blood kicks in. SHARPBOB is 3rd up and ready to fire. There’s your quinella.
