A good few city trainers turning up here for the maiden bush races with swollen prizemoney on offer. One of them, Golden Slipper-winning trainer Gary Portelli, brings his luckless mare ALL TOO GOOD here for this. She is resuming from a spell and has a well-beaten run in a trial under her belt. She should be fit enough today, and at the weights looks particularly well placed. Has recorded a string of provincial placings in her career, most of them attained when last in work. Drawn to sit about 4th early here, probably in the one, one seat, and should have too much class.
Tip: ALL TOO GOOD
Solid field complete with enormous pace. Two months back you would have bet your house on the Mudgee mare REPRIMAND progressing very easily to open grade, such was her dominance in 3 restricted class races. But she hasn’t…as yet. Regular rider Matty Cahill has chosen to get off her in preference to last start winner JETGIRL and that mare is a very big danger, obviously. But the choice may be prematurely wrong. This Reprimand is very, very fast and strong when her mind is on the job. She is 4th up here, coming off 2 inglorious efforts and may just go bang today.
FRESH START was strong late when resuming this grade last start to grab 5th. And he looks the main danger to our tip, EQUISETA. She is trained at Wyong by Kim Waugh and her first up Taree maiden run was eye-catching. That track doesn’t suit backmarkers yet she sat back near the rear and made impressive ground late to grab 3rd over 1250m. Is fitter now and the extra 100m means she will flash late. Will love this track too.
