Form student, RIC CHAPMAN, takes a look at today’s thoroughbred racing and singles out his three top horse racing tips, from Tamworth and Kembla. Good luck, punters!

Here is a case study to prove that patience pays. Some horses just need time and I believe this well-bred fellow named GREENSKEEPER (Redoute’s Choice-Turf Fairy) is one of them. He failed as a 2YO with a city trainer so was sent to Nathan Doyle at Scone, and Doyle had the time to get him matured up. He started his new life at Tamworth in a race that was too short and ran 13th. Then up to 1400m at Newcastle and he raced better beaten just over 2 lengths. Last start at 3rd run in, he finished off hard to grab 2nd this grade at Taree. Should be fully wound up now, the 1600m looks perfect and should go very close.

Should be a fair bit of pace on here as the Tulloch Lodge trained BLACK SUNRISE appears the leader. His two barrier trials this time up have been spotless for a race like this and he showed his desire to lead. Perfectly drawn here too. May be the case of yet another horse needing time. He showed speed when last in work but didn’t finish his races off. Can lead throughout here from INVINCIANO who should be very heavily backed after nice 3rd this grade last start.

The only time Chris Waller’s FLYING PIERRO has ever won a race was at this track. That was in January of this year in a 1500m Mdn where he fell in to beat a horse who has still not won a race. But he looks to me, and this seems to be the theme today, a horse that has needed time. He resumed from a spell last start in similar grade to this and was 5th. Must strip fitter now and was beaten just 2 lengths that day. Sure to run right into the money.
