Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at today’s lone meeting and singles out his top three horse racing tips from Hamilton. The scorching heat and fire alerts have postponed two Sydney meetings until Wednesday. Good luck, punters!

Highweight here, meaning every horse carries huge weights. AURUM DROMOS, for instance, goes up 10kg from his last two starts where he made ground over a mile late to grab 2nd each time. He’s very fit, tough and under the Plate conditions actually comes in well at the weights. Should drop in about 4th here and with astute riding may even find himself in the one, one sit. Does look the play for mine from GALAXY GLEN.

Okay, I’m a huge fan of horses showing improvement each run. And in MAXIMAK we see that. Was below average on debut when she settled 12th early and stayed there all the way. But experience is a wondrous thing, as is improved fitness. And so it was shown at her next start. She again sat back near the rear but this time, oh this time, she got to the outside and finished the race off hard winding up 3rd at Benalla. She was backed from $12 into $6 so they knew she’d race better. Expect her to blow by these today.

Again I’m on the improvement curve. HEAVENLY BARB is the best-bred horse in this field being by I Am Invincible and her form suggests she may have the talent to be the best racehorse here too. After jumping and leading from the get-go, only to be nabbed on the wire here in mid-October, she stepped out again under exactly the same conditions here and ran nearly a second faster. Naturally, nothing caught her this time. So if that improvement spiral continues, she leads these all the way also.
