Since going solo, champion Queensland trainer Robert Heathcote has his stable rolling along and he can add to all that here with the mare INCREDIBELLE. She has drawn perfectly, for this her 2nd start. On debut, she raced at the Gold Coast, and it was a stronger maiden than this. She made ground to run 5th. She is a 4YO and the stable has given her time to mature. Experience and fitness are key factors in her delivering a good result for punters here. Dale Short rides and you can quinella with MR AZRAY.
It would seem rather appropriate that in the same week Ash Barty heads the world tennis rankings, becoming the first Aussie female since Evonne Goolagong to do so, that this filly on debut, GOOLAGONG ROSE, can salute. She’s trained by Team McEvoy, and that father-son combo has created a terrific winners-to-runners record here at Gawler, and this filly has run a pair of slashing trials leading up to this. The rails draw looks pleasing as well. Looks to have sufficient pace to boot up and be with the leaders. Perhaps toss in FOUR OF A KIND in for 2nd.
Tip: GOOLAGONG ROSE
There appears to be a lot of cheap speed. Cheap as in they go like scalded cats then fold. Which, by all measures, should suit SECONDOFMAY. He’s fast but doesn’t have to get involved in the speed battles. Has form sitting off the pace and rushing late. Is very fit and has had foot on the till for a few starts now.
