Form student, RIC CHAPMAN, takes a look at today’s meetings and singles out his three top horse racing tips, from Albury and Newcastle. Good luck, punters!

The training combo of Team Hayes and Tom Dabernig will saddle up two live chances in this race. They prepare last start winner VOODOO QUEEN and the last start unlucky 4th placegetter ON OUR HONOUR. I suggest you quinella them. But I rather fancy Voodoo Queen here as she is very fit now. And staying looks to be her forte. Ground out a solid but narrow win over the handy Accredit last start. That horse had placed prior to and has since placed again so the form is good enough for a bush race here.

Tip: VOODOO QUEEN

I really think Grant Buckley and Allan Denham have this one under control, that’s despite the always awesome presence of the Kris Lees army. He has 3 in this and I rate KANAVU his best chance. But Denham saddles up BANGKOK and this is a very honest and rather progressive racehorse. After winning 4 on the bounce last campaign, starting in the bush, he was spelled. Was well beaten in tough race first up then showed his true talents by sitting just off the speed at Rosehill in a BM 70 and finishing too well last start. Is super fit, has won his 5 races now and has drawn perfectly. Does look a nice bet to me.

Tip: BANGKOK

By this stage of the day you’d like to be on a front-runner. The track will have revealed how best to play it and BRILLIANT BEAVER could be your go in this. She is fast and will come from no wider than 10. Given she is very fit, has form around horses that are perhaps better than most of these….and she is fast early, I see her crossing to lead this bunch quite comfortably. Then it’s just up to apprentice Mikaela Claridge to find the fast lane down the running. WAR BLUES can flash late for 2nd.
