You just had to love the way this rising bush star HARBOURING attacked the line to claim his maiden win last start. It was over 1400m and every indication was that this trip will suit even more. Saying that, he’s up in grade and OH WHY is no slouch having humped 62kg to victory last start in a similar field. They are drawn next to one another here but there was just something in the way Harbouring accelerated away that caught my eye.
Team Snowden present the well-bred Medaglia D’oro filly NESHMIYA here and she is 2nd up. She also looks well placed as they tinker with the idea of stepping her up in trip and grade down the track. She’s a get back, run on type, who has drawn perfectly in gate 3 here. So she could sit a little closer than normal. Last start she was 7th at the provincials in a shorter race and made ground late. If she gets cover, which she should, and gets out in time, she should fly and beat MIMI who is also 2nd up.
First up last start at provincial level, SUPREME DEAL went home hard to place in a nice maiden. Will strip a lot fitter here and has drawn to receive a glorious run throughout the race. Now, this is pretty much a provincial maiden also so no great benefit dropping to the bush. What does help him is the fact he’s in form and is fitter than most of these with that run under his belt. KYUSHU can bob up for a placing too.
