This is a pretty handy Class 1. Two unbeaten emerging stars here in HEALING HANDS and SYD’S FOOTPRINTS should, along with PEYTON PLACE, be the main players. Healing Hands won his maiden at Dubbo while racing greenly and not knowing what to do. The race was too short at 1050m and he was midfield to the turn, then given plenty of room out wide, he hung in and stargazed but finished it off brilliantly to win racing away. Extra trip here looks perfect for his style of racing. Must be fitter as well.
Tip: HEALING HANDS
We love horses who are dual-accepted and EVERYWHERE MAN is one of them. He was in yesterday in town but was scratched for this. That suggests he is ready to run a blinder. His one start to date was a strong 3rd this grade and he’s drawn perfectly in this. On debut, he strolled to the front from gate rise and led them a merry dance at a good clip right until final few bounds. That day the race was 1200m. Shorter here. Does look the one to beat from MUTOMBO.
Tip: EVERYWHERE MAN
This Kris Lees-trained galloper ELCANO looks the play. This is based on his only 4 starts to date, all of which have been an improvement on the previous one. Last start he was 2nd, similar race, behind a rising star in Poulton Le Sands. It was over a mile at Scone and he was 2nd last for home before flashing home late. Extra trip and that improvement curve here – make him look very hard to beat.
