Wow, we have 5 last start winners and the other 3 in the field placed in strong races last start. On debut RULE THE WORLD led all way to beat a subsequent winner with rival here FROSTY ROCKS back in 3rd. That obviously was a strong maiden. Frosty Rocks meets him 2kg better and should run boldly too. TRUE DETECTIVE resumes here with 2 impressive barrier trials under his belt. Did win impressively in debut in midweek grade and can scoot home.
Tip: RULE THE WORLD
I AM CAPITAN is 2nd up here but is very honest and really deserves to win this. Was game 2nd when resuming. Puts in every start and the 2kg claim here is a big help. SYD’S FOOTPRINTS resumes here from a good gate and was a rising force when last in work. Should race very boldly. Danny Williams has 3 in this and he favours ACQUITTAL who is also resuming, as his best hope. It does go well fresh.
Tip: I AM CAPITAN
Interesting affair. There should be a heap of pace on here. THE ENZO resumes here and has had 2 trials to get him ready. Showed a lot of talent back in Feb of 18. Obviously has had his issues but might surprise. EMBRACER looked a special on Wednesday yet was scratched saving him for this – on his home track. Is fast and will probably be the leader. Is also big and tough. Inside draw an advantage. SIR ELTON has a bit of a boom on him. Unbeaten in 2 weaker runs to date but won them with style leading all way. Looks well up to this level but coming across from the wide gate may be an issue.
MASTER SHUHOOD is fascinating. Back in Europe he was a successful hurdler but since being with Chris Waller he’s transformed him. Won in Victoria over a mile first up and has since had a long spell in Aust to acclimatize. Two recent trials have been good. MONSIEUR SISU is a go forward type who is 4th up and looks well placed. Drawn to be the leader actually and is strong all way. I’M PRETTY STRONG may need the run but he was 4th last start and could well run home hard.
Tip: MASTER SHUHOOD
Victorian visitor FANCIFUL TOFF is racing in career best form. Beat similar fields at past 2 runs and is just flying. Gets a 2kg weight relief here and should again finish like a train. BOBBY DEE is a strong Kiwi stayer who likes to sit back and run on. Should be suited to this track and grade. JAKE’S HILL hasn’t won for a while but seems to battle on well under big weights to place. Chance today.
Tip: FANCIFUL TOFF
Victorian visitor DR DRILL looks well placed here. He’s an on pace stayer who is in career best form. Bound to be in the fray all the way. Won recently at BM 84 level racing at Flemington. WHITE BOOTS has drawn awkwardly but probably drives forward and sits on pace maybe half a length behind Dr Drill. Is very fit and even more honest this grade. NAHUEL is 2nd up after an encouraging run in a shorter race when resuming. Did win 2nd up last time and may be a pretty smart horse. Will be running on.
Tough race. TONY NICCONI will love the change up here. He resumed in a BM 88 last start and was wide all the way finishing 5 lengths off the winner. Down to BM 78 this time and has the rails draw, is very fast on his day. The Godolphin pair of REVENIRE and DEITY will be running on. Both like a hot tempo early and that will occur here.
Tip: TONY NICCONI
THY KINGDOM COME has a great draw and resumes here. He likes to lead when right, and when right he takes an enormous amount of catching. Suited by the fact this is his home track and he has had 2 solid trials to get him right. Wonderboy Shinn takes the ride. SLOW BIRN will drop out and rush late. Is also at home and was eye-catching first up when 5th similar race. LJUNDBERG is 3rd up and both runs this time in have been full of promise. Is on home track too and drawn to get the run of the race just off the speed.
NOTATION is having her 8th start here with her 8th different rider! Has scored in slightly lower grade at past two. Gets out, on speed and just keeps boxing away. Is tough and honest. The fact this is 1400m and there is soooo much speed here might bring TERMINOLOGY unstuck. She has pace and is talented with Hughie to ride but if they press hard early she may get trapped wide. LEVEE BANK will be big odds but she will love the fact there is abundant early speed here. Will be running on. AIM FOR PERFECTION likes to settle back in the field and has talent. But is up in class here. Bound to get the run of the race.
