Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews Saturday’s Newcastle meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all nine races on the card. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Good 4

Rail Position: True, entire circuit

If the Gai and Adrian pair of RAPIDO CHAPARRO and FALCON ISLAND don’t go crazy out in front cutting at each other’s throats, then both stand a great chance of being in this finish. If they do, MASTER SHUHOOD has strong finishing power and will like this track.

Local filly REDOUTE’S IMAGE looked amazingly fast and strong in winning her trial recently. Being trained at the track gives her an advantage too. Might be very special. TILIA ROSE was cantering on the outside of the pace when winning her recent city trial. Is in the Team Snowden stable which is a powerful baby barn. PANNA COTTA is very fit and forward and won a trial impressively too.

Interesting affair. AXELLA from Murwillumbah looks ready. Last campaign she opened with a good 4th then won a BM64. Well, she opened this campaign with a 4th and is 2nd up here. SMART MOOVE gets in really well here after the 3kg claim. Is a last start winner. DENMISS hits the line well and has placed at her past 3 starts.

A tough race to work out. MISS REDOBLE went out hard and kept finding over a mile last start in this grade winding up 5th. The shorter trip here suits. TINKERMOSA won last campaign when resuming and is first up here. Is tough in this grade. LUCCIOLA BELLE is 3rd up and has talent this trip. Will hit the line hard.

What a lottery. RULE THE WORLD is 2nd up here but is very smart and may even be really good. Led all way to run time over 1400m in 3YO grade last start. Should lead and may decimate these. This grade’s stronger than her last few starts but BRIGHT RUBICK has won them easily. Should receive a top run and should charge late. SKY DIAMONDS is a city winner and is in form. Bound to be thereabouts all the way.

It would probably be fitting that leading Newcastle trainer Kris Lees quinellas this big race. And he should. He saddles the multiple Gr 1 winner LE ROMAIN who looks very well in on his best form. And he also has GRAFF engaged who deserves a win in a big race as he is always just behind the top echelon. I see these two gapping the rest. JONKER will be huge odds but with his weight, he can lead and will take running down.

Tip: 1. GRAFF, 2. Le Romain, 3. Jonker, 4. Invincible Gem

LIVE AND FREE is talented and resumes here in a winnable race. Gets a 3kg allowance here too. resp0ect big time. BOBBING is pretty smart and his 3rd first up in The Kosciuszko was outstanding as he stormed home. OUTRAGEOUS is smart and won an easier race last start well. Will be handy all the way.

Good even field. STROME was strong when close up 4th at BM88 level last start. Is 3rd up now and was half a length behind MR RECKLESS that day. He is also 3rd up and meets Strome half a kilo worse for just beating him. MUSHAIREB was strong late when 2nd first up. This isn’t any harder and should strip fitter.

A good, close race. The Team Hawkes trained horses always go better with a run under their belts so expect TESTIFIER, with his welcome 3kg claim here, to go a whole lot better than his 7th when resuming in this grade. LEVIATHAN is resuming here and it’s just his 3rd start. But he shows great promise. Bush galloper BURNING CROWN is smart and he won most impressively last start in the bush. Is better than you might think.
