Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at today’s meetings and singles out his three top horse racing tips, from Gunnedah, Mildura & Wagga. Good luck, punters!

Two horses stand out here. CRIME WAVE ran home like a train to grab 2nd on debut in same grade and this is a little longer. But SCEPTER OF POWER has run 2nd at his past 3 runs and 2 of those have been at provincial level. So that just makes them pretty even in my view. The draw then becomes the defining element. Scepter Of Power has the rails draw here and has been freshened for this so narrowly, I’m on him to score. Quinella the pair.

It’s hard to imagine but this TEARS TO GLORY is dropping 10kg from his last start 2nd placing in this grade. Of course, that was a highweight, but it was just his 2nd start and he did remarkably well humping 68.5kg at Tatura. Extra trip here is in his favour too and the natural fitness level improvements will make him very hard to beat. ALWAYS THE KING is in form and racing well enough for 2nd.

Wagga R8 – Open Hcp 1300m

STONE COLD is the best horse but he’s the topweight over this trip from this gate makes me question him here. So I’m on MAHALO who is perfectly drawn. She comes into this very well at the weights and her last start 3rd was full of merit. It was in this grade at Moruya and it was a strong race. Remember, this mare has broken 1.10 for 1200m with 57.5kg… today with 51kg she is going to be on speed all the way and take a power of catching.
