I appreciate the fact names mean something – good names tend to be associated with good horses and bad names, well you do the maths. But this bloke from Wyong, BUGALUGS, may change that rule a bit today. Since joining the Kristen Buchanan stable he has improved markedly and last start was a classic example. He sat wide yet moved up to win and petered on his run final stages in this very grade. He was beaten by a smart one in Sheeran that day. This looks perfectly timed and ideal in every way.

Should be a fair bit of pace on here as many like to get out and go and hang on. My selection here ACT OF FAME is one of them but she can and will take a sit just behind the speed, probably in the one, one spot. I see FEARLESS FALCON charging across and finding the front. Act Of Fame is ready to win. She has been near the pace and kept finding to be in the money past two at Mornington and this may be a length or so weaker. Trainer Mitch Beer is in form and at this her 10th start she can produce the goods.

Pretty strong Class 1 this but I have an opinion of this 3YO filly named TAKE TO HEART. She gets back and she runs on. Did that to win her maiden at big odds in the mud on debut and subsequently when up to the stronger grade last start at Kembla on a Good 4, no-one wanted a bar of her. She got back and rattled home, beaten 2 lengths finishing a closing 4th over 1200m. Extra trip here, plus a bit of fitness and down in grade, make her something to back for mine.
