Form student, RIC CHAPMAN, takes a look at today’s thoroughbred racing and singles out his three top horse racing tips, from Murwillumbah and Geelong. Good luck, punters!

Former Victorian 3YO MALAWI GOLD steps out in NSW for the first time here and he looks very hard to beat. Was transferred to Matty Dunn’s ever-reliable stable about 3 months ago and has thrived in the sunshine. Won a barrier trial looking a million dollars the other day. Has a big weight but did place in Vic this grade when last in work. I’ll be watching market because he just might go bang in this. VIN ROUGE could be the quinella bet.

This is not a strong race. So I’m going for the filly from QLD BROOKER AVENUE. She is yet to race this trip but in 3 sprint runs to date she has gotten out the back door, steadied and made good ground late. Her racing pattern suggests the extra trip shouldn’t be a worry. I see her from this good gate settling about 5th on the fence, obviously with cover, and then producing her late kick. DIMONTE GIRL has a placing this grade so is the danger.

The very much inform and versatile rider John Allen gets a chance to land another flat winner here when he takes LA MAGIQUE to the starting gates. She is a solid mare this grade and comes here from Adelaide. Last start, with 1.5kg more on her back and a slightly worse gate, she jumped well, went up to be just off pace and went home gamely this track for a stylish 2nd. That was a BM 58 too. So all things point to her being right in this finish.
