Palmerbet Racing Team previews Wednesday’s thoroughbred race meeting at Sandown. Here are our tips for all eight races on the Hillside card. Good luck, punters!

Rail Position: Out 5m, entire circuit
Track Condition: Soft 5

ELUSIVE MELODY has had 2 fine starts this time up and should be ready to peak for this. Not beaten all that far when 5th similar race last start and Damien Oliver has mount here. MISS PRESTIGIOUS was a little deep and cluttered up between runners when solid 5th similar maiden at the ‘Bool. Drawn better and looms large here while THE BALD EAGLE has a bad draw but hit line well when resuming and 5th last start. Respect.

KOBE PRINCESS has placed twice from just 2 runs to date all this grade. Chased home hard when beaten by an unraced Godolphin youngster last start who firmed from $4.10 to start $3 that day. Should get great cart into the race here. PERFECT PARTY will improve off debut effort and 6th this grade. Gets 2kg allowance and nicely drawn. RIVERINA DANCER is very fast and no doubt will spear across from this gate. Not shown too much fight final stages to date however.

MOONLOVER showed great speed to just fail in much harder race here back in December over 1400m. Got back and ran on while fresh last start. This might be a tad short but will be flying late. STRYLINGLEE has great draw and also a neat first up record. Resumes here and bound to run boldly while fresh. WEEKEND ESCAPE might be pretty handy. Third up here after great 2nd similar race last start. Big danger.

CRAFTY CRUISER is racing brilliantly of late and doing it in better races. Big weight but is fit and really in form. EUROMAN likewise is going well and is very fit. Does receive a handy 2kg weight allowance. CREEDENCE shows staying promise but is lightly raced and up in grade. Watch market.

SOUFFRANT faces a big task but he is improving. Did score easily with 59.5kg at BM 64 grade last start. Drops a little in weight but up a little in grade here….still a chance. His stablemate, FIFTY STARS, however is an emerging talent. He’s unbeaten in 2 starts and has won with style both times. Looks Saturday grade. ANDAZ will drop out from this wide gate and will be doing his best work late.  Chance.

FAMELIST was wide all way when beaten 9 lengths this BM level last start, which followed a strong win slightly weaker company. Back to just mares this time and slight drop in weight, plus better draw means she can improve. HECTOPASCAL is very fit and racing well. The 2kg weight relief means she can sit back and charge home late here. SUMMER GLEN is getting better and fitter with racing. Did get home nicely slightly weaker grade when 2nd. Watch market.

We loved the way BARTHELONA got home last start to finish 4th in stronger grade behind the smart Inn Keeper last start. Bad draw but may find a cozy spot mid field with cover. If so, will charge late. LORD TENNYSON has the coveted rails draw here and will go forward. Third up too so a lot points to him doing very well in this. TAVONIAN won 3 in a row before spelling. Tough ask first up but may have that x-factor. Watch market.

Ever since he was stepped up to this sort of trip MELBA’S MAESTRO has grown another leg. He’s lumped big weights to win at Wangaratta, Geelong and Echuca and knocked off some rising stars along the way.  Should go on with the job now. KING KABUTO has come back to racing this campaign in superb style and is just so honest. Will give your money a good run. BIG BAD BAZ can get home as he showed to win easier race last start. Built and trained for this trip. Respect.
