Palmerbet Racing Team previews Wednesday’s thoroughbred race meeting at Sandown. Here are our tips for all eight races on the Lakeside card. Good luck, punters!

Rail Position: True, entire circuit
Track Condition: Soft 5

D’GRAMMY shocked a few at $10 on debut when came from mid field over 1200m to win narrowly at Sale. This is lengths harder, but natural improvement, extra 200m and great pedigree should help. SOCIAL SPIN has not been served well at the gates but past 2 runs since resuming suggest this is a nice race. If he finds cover, he can rattle home. SO YOU SWING was last of 13 on heavy track near home turn at Geelong on debut, yet stormed home to win on the line. Extra trip big advantage.

BEAT IT JUSTBEATIT was always handy and did best work late on debut when close up 3rd this grade at Geelong. In strong stable so should have come on further. PIP’S PICK has a bit of pace and is in the Darren Weir stable, but lacks a lot of fight late. Still, is experienced and this isn’t overly hard. SIX SIGMA has placed twice from 3 runs all this grade, yet last start when unplaced was perhaps best effort as he made up many lengths late. Suited this track.

The last time BEAVERBROOK raced at this track, he sat off pace in a strong BM 70, and pounced late to win comfortably. Has failed miserably in 3 runs since but is down in grade. Watch market. GOLDEN KEY has been up a fair while but is not only holding form but is racing better every start. Big threat. OUTBACK WARRIOR is rising in grade here but couldn’t have been more impressive with runaway maiden win when on pace all way. Chance.

A lot of things point to a SERENADE THE STARS victory here. Drawn the fence, is just 3rd up so should be really fit and is in fine form. Big show. THUNDER CLOUD shows up every week and runs boldly every time. Draw a bit tricky but is pretty professional. His stablemate, SILVER STRATUM, is in career best form, winning past 3 and looms large here too.  Watch market.

BINT EL BEDU is a pretty useful staying mare on her day as she showed when last in work. Just behind placegetters at stakes level. Never sighted in strong BM 84 when resuming over a mile. Better placed this trip and grade. Chance. ALMALITA is fast, will drive forward and like nearly all Gai and Adrian horses, will roll foward and take a power of running down. Just nabbed late last start. STREET SPUN landed the cash that similar race last start running down Almalita, and drawn to be handy all way here too.

GROOVIN’ was just run over last start similar race but form prior was excellent and draw is favourable here. The 3kg allowance is a huge advantage. ROSEBERRY STREET should be ready now and last start’s strong 2nd this grade supports that. Is 5th up now and gets a welcome 2kg allowance. Worth a tote ticket. ALASKAN SUN hasn’t won for some time but is racing very consistently and is well up to this grade.

PROMETHEUS is down from Sydney with 2 average runs under his belt this time up. Should be fit enough for this at least and form when last in work was very strong. Runs home hard. HARIPOUR seems to have adapted to Aussie racing already as last start win indicates. Weight allowance here means he rates highly. KRUSTY is 2nd up here but has good 2nd up stats and suited this trip.

SHERIFF JOHN STONE was up on pace in very similar event last start and looked winner at the 200m before yielding final bit due to lack of recent racing. Is fitter now and has same weight. Big show. SEVEN YEAR REWARD has yet to win this time up in 5 starts, but has gone close and is in good enough form to trouble these after weight allowance and from this terrific gate. MR SINATRA always seems to bob up these type of races. Good race.
