Preview – Gr 1 Golden Rose

Is very smart on his day and loves it damp under foot. Has won two x Gr 1 races to date both times when Joao Moreira has ridden him. He jumps on him again here. However, to counter all that, he has raced Cylinder three times thus far and has been soundly beaten home by him every time.

This is one of the biggest MUST watch horses on the card. Is the reigning Gr 1 Golden Slipper winner when at his 4th start he beat Cylinder home. Is resuming here but won the Slipper with Ryan Moore on board and he has flown out to ride him again. Does like to get back but runs home very hard and recently beat Zaaki in a trial. Watch market as he may be a superstar.

Outstanding race horse. Hit front in the straight only to be grabbed late by Shinzo in the Gr 1 Golden Slipper and a game 2nd. Since spell has overcome difficulty to win both races, latest in Sydney when getting up off the canvass to win when he looked blocked for a run. Is extremely fit and will be the one to beat.

Will be big odds but will test these. Is a Gr 1 winner and last start resumed in the Gr 1 Winx Stakes and just did not get a clear run at any stage yet was beaten just 2 lengths by Fangirl. Will get back but he has finishing power and he is fitter now. Respect a lot.

Is extra smart and well up to this. Has twice placed at Gr 1 level and was 4th in the Golden Slipper behind Shinzo. Beaten just on a length when resuming behind Cylinder last start and is better suited to this trip. Can place.

Looked awesome winning first up against a few of these but then had a great run just behind the pace but failed to sprint with the top ones when 7th to Cylinder last start. If he repeats his fresh run, he has claims but did look inferior late last start.

Might be very good. Is improving every start and last start took on a new role when leading and was in front until final stride when beaten a nose by Cylinder. Has only had three runs but seems well up to these and that improvement curve is impressive.

Most times a win is the best medicine to turn a horse on and after 4 from 4 placings in good grade he finally pounced late to win the Gr 3 Ming Dynasty in very fast time this trip at this track last start. Gets home very hard and that win may have him turned the corner. Respect his finishing talents.

good colt who flashed home from off the pace when eye-catching 3rd to Libertad when resuming. Then ridden on speed in hot Gr 2 Run To Rose when fading 4th to Cylinder. This may test.

Lots of talk about the ability this guy has. He’s been to the races 4 times thus far and won maiden well but it was his hard-finishing 3rd to Cylinder this grade last start that has tongues wagging. Cautionary note though, he got within a half length of Cylinder while that has was searching for a run and finished 3/4 length behind him at the end.

Good, honest type but may be a length of so behind the best of these. Has placed at Gr 2 level and won his maiden at Goulburn last start easily. This is harder though.

Good, strong colt who was a solid 4th to Libertad in san Domenico when resuming and beaten less than a length when 6th to Cylinder last start. Might find it tough late.

Top class filly who can swoop. Sits back as she has done twice this prep and both times came with stunning finishing Burts. Is up in class here but clearly is a talented race horse who should be running on. Is very fit.
