Gr 2 P.B. Lawrence Stakes

At his best, this old boy wins this comfortably. Resumes here and must be in good spirits to come all the way from Sydney to race here fresh. Has a terrific strike rate when resuming and I see him in the top 3 all the way.

No doubt drives forward and in doing so will drag Private Eye across. Resumes here but has won $3.1million in stakes because he is good at this level. Not the greatest fresh but if no-one takes him on mid stages he can be a major player.

Interesting runner. On his day he is well up to this, but when he came back for a campaign at the start of the year, he put in two woeful efforts and was immediately spelled. Has had 2 trials recently and looked his old self in them so watch betting moves. Has also won $3.1million in stakes so is good enough.

Grand old stager who looks well placed here. Loves racing fresh and resumes here. The WFA scale suits him, he is a Gr 1 winner, and he has finishing talent. Won a recent trial and looms as one of the main players.

Caught the eye resuming last start when flashing home under 62kg to be beaten a length by rival Coeur Volante who he meets 1.5kg better at the weights here. Is capable of winning but does mix his form a bit at this level. Place show.

Good and capable but this is a strong Gr 2 and he may find it a tad tough late. Beaten into 2nd spot last start before spell in Sydney at Gr 3 level. Rough place show.

Top flight Gr 1 winning West Aussie who looks well placed. Has a superb first up record and he enhanced it last start winning at first look at this track in the Gr 3 Bletchingly over 1200m. Now, saying that, his 2nd up record is even better and yep, he’s 2nd up here. Willy Pike flies over to ride so he must be strongly considered.

Solid, capable Gr 2 level horse but is first up here and it may prove a tad short. Will be running on but I’m not keen.

Stayer whose last start was a courageous 2nd in the Gr 1 Sydney Cup over 3200m. But, he has been showing the camp a great deal this prep. Resumes here and although it’s only 1400m, he could sprout wings late and win this at big odds. Have in your numbers.

Has won here this trip in good time but man oh man, his 2 starts this time in have been woeful. Can’t win off those 2 runs.

Good, tough Gr 3 type stayer who will just get too far back here and find these too swift. Later on.

Good mare and also a very interesting one here. Has raced at this track 4 times over this trip and has won each of them. Just seems to rocket home. Is up in grade here but a mare in form is always one to watch. Should be right in this finish.

Top class mare. Lightly raced but already a 2-time Gr 1 winner albeit over longer trips against her own age and sex. Stable has a huge opinion of her and she is being aimed at the Caulfield Cup. Can she win against this solid field first up, hmm problematic, but she will be storming home so have in your numbers.
