- Randwick - Race 7
- (1200 M)
- October 19, 2024
1. I Wish I Win (9)
Superstar who looks back to his best and his best is good enough to win this. Sits back in about 6th until they swing, will get pulled wide and just unleash late. Is 3rd up, was placed in this race last year, and looks the testing material again this time around. Did win 3rd up last prep.

2. Giga Kick (3)
Jay Mac sacked him to ride Joliestar but should he have? This bloke’s 2 runs this time up have been very sound and better than perhaps people think. He’s a winner of this race and has run 1200m faster than nearly all of these in the past. Is 3rd up into this and if the track is damp he is a major threat. Have in your numbers.

Good on Soft
3. Private Eye (10)
Star on his day and has placed in this race. Two starts this time up have been handy but on both occasions he got too far back and never really looked like running down the leaders. Is a big race performer but the fear is he may just have lost a length in finishing speed. Place show.

Ready to Fire
4. Bella Nipotina (12)
Outstanding multiple Gr 1 winning mare who was a certainty beaten last start when 3rd to Airman and Mazu in a slightly easier race. Has the ability to run astonishing times on her day from 1100m up to 1400m. That kind of versatility makes her a massive threat as she can sit back which she looks like doing here after a bad draw. She is 3rd up and ready to win. Plus, she loves it wet.

Ready to Fire
5. I Am Me (1)
Is the star of the moment having won both her races this time up and in doing so lowered the colours of most of these. Continues to draw amazing gates (not been further out than 2 in past 6 races) and she just keeps getting perfect runs behind the speed as result. Is very fit and must be strongly fancied.

Proven Winner
6. Stefi Magnetica (6)
Such an amazing animal. She has won 3 races – two in the bush and the Gr 1 Stradbroke which she ran in super fast time. Speaking of time, after that Gr 1 win she was spelled and resumed with a 2nd in the Gr 2 Shorts over 1100m behind I Am Me beaten a nose. She came home her last 600m in under 33sec which most of these can’t do. Sure to be flashing home.
7. Sunshine In Paris (8)
Lumped 58kg around when resuming and ran really fast time for 1200m in winning the Gr 2 Sheraco. This is harder but she can rattle home. A slight worry is that she’s had 2 attempts at 2nd up racing and is yet to win. Could sneak a place if she is on.

8. Joliestar (4)
Yet to miss a place in 8 starts and is a Gr 1 winner already. But, saying that and while still acknowledging her talent, she has never faced a field this hot. Beaten comfortably at level weights by Sunshine In Paris last start when 2nd up. May find this too rich.

9. Growing Empire (7)
Looks the real deal although is still lightly raced having stepped out just 6 times. Has won 4 of them and nearly won last start when beaten a nostril in the Gr 1 Manikato over 1200m at The Valley. Hit the front close to home and just lost concentration last few bounds. I Wish I Win was just behind him that day but he meets that old stager a kilo worse here. Is so talented he looks a major threat.

Proven Winner
10. Traffic Warden (2)
Classy and talented and looms very large. Can run time and is powerful late. Beaten a lip last start when nabbed on the wire by boom colt Broadsiding in the Gr 1 Golden Rose over 1400m. Perfectly suited at the weights and drawn to get a cheap run behind the speed. Big threat.
-
Ready to Fire
11. Storm Boy (5)
Is the dark horse. If he jumps he no doubt drives up to the lead and as the only speed in the race he could lead these comfortably. This is his home track and he can run time. With this light weight he looks primed. Led and caught in last few bounds over 1400m by Broadsiding and Traffic Warden last start. Better suited this trip and must be in your numbers.

Ready to Fire
12. Lady Of Camelot (11)
Top filly. Is the defending Gr 1 Golden Slipper winner and if she can get in with cover just off the pace she has finishing power. The draw doesn’t suit her but she’s 3rd up and fit enough to be a player.

13. Overpass (13)
Speed horse. The race changes complexion if he gains a start because he will lead and stretch them out. Goes well fresh and resumes here. Would take catching if he ran.

14. Think About It (14)
Won this race last year in phenomenal time but not looked likely to win a race in 6 starts since. It does look like he ran his heart out last year to win. Probably wont get a run and that’s ok because he didn’t run a place when resuming last start.

15. Southport Tycoon (15)
Could disrupt these if he was to gain a start. Rattled home from a mile off the pace to win Gr 1 Manikato last start beating Growing Empire. Is very strong late and should have been placed straight into the field.
