1. Dubai Honour (4)
Multiple Gr 1 winner. He is one of the best horses on the planet and as such should prove far too good for these.
-
Proven Winner
2. Vauban (3)
Outstanding stayer who showed that with debut Aussie win last start. Has been in Australia now for 5 months and Gai and Adrian control his training, meaning he will be tough and finish hard. Looks the only threat to Dubai Honour.

Ready to Fire
3. Arapaho (6)
Is very honest and also very close to a win. Was the only one left standing when Vauban finished hard to narrowly beat him in the Gr 3 Sky High last start over 2000m in very fast time. Is super fit now and loves this trip even more. Did win this race last year and is going even better now.

Ready to Fire
4. Duke De Sessa (2)
Gr 1 winner of the Caulfield Cup this trip last year and his two runs since resuming from a spell have been excellent. He won first up over a mile with 60kg then last start on pace all the way when narrowly beaten by Middle Earth over 2000m. Ready to jump to the lead and will play a significant role in this.

5. Zarir (8)
International star who has great Gr 1 form in France and that is always impressive. Now in the Chris Waller yard and has been coming along nicely. Was beaten by Dubai Honour the last time they met at level weights but is very classy. Watch market.

Good on Soft
6. Circle Of Fire (10)
Is third up here and is getting very close to top form – his last start close up 4th to Vauban over 2000m carrying 1.5kg more than him says so. Did win the Gr 1 Sydney Cup this time last year so has rough place hopes.

Place Performer
7. Land Legend (11)
Likes to get up close to the pace and fight on like he did for 3rd in the Gr 1 Caulfield Cup last year. Was also 8th in the Melbourne Cup. The last start was poor run though and this is even harder.

8. Asterix (14)
Kiwi star who has now had 3 Aussie starts for Chris Waller and is improving all the time. Is being readied for the Gr 1 Sydney Cup and so at WFA here should find this tough.
-
Good on Soft
9. Zechariah (7)
Talented handicapper but at WFA he should get steamrolled. Is being aimed at the Sydney Cup over 3200m. Not keen.
-
Good on Soft
10. Waltham (12)
Solid handicapper who won a BM 85 at the Gold Coast last start. This is many lengths harder.
-
Ready to Fire
11. Warmonger (9)
Very good stayer on his day and looks back in form following his hard-finishing 2nd in the Randwick City Stakes behind Alalcanze. This is harder but WFA suits and he can stay. Place show at odds.

12. Kinesiology (1)
Is completely outclassed at this level. Is being set for the Sydney Cup. Not keen.

13. La Crique (5)
Brilliant almost champion-like Kiwi mare who is no stranger to Gr 1 success. BUT, has not won or even raced over this trip. Runner-up in top grade at past 4 starts, latest over 2000m in the Gr 1 Bonecrusher when beaten a nostril. Has the class to win but trip is the concern.
-
Good on Soft
14. River Of Stars (13)
Brilliant Gr 1 performing mare whose last start was a close 2nd at Gr 1 level in France behind Grateful. Jay Mac has chosen to ride her in preference to quite a few others so that suggests only one thing – she’s a major player. Is now in the Chris Waller team.
