Gr 1 – Tancred Stakes

Champion stayer from England. Is always a threat down under. Getting on nowadays, however. Did win this race last year. Saying that, is sure to be right in the thick of things at the end.

Terrific stayer who won like a horse inspired last start when resuming over 2000m in Gr 3 Sky High. Can stay all day and did run 3rd in this race last year. Big threat.

Interesting. Will get back and may not be suited by the WFA scale, but he can stay, has placed at Gr 1 level this trip, and he can run home hard. Is 4th up here and is peeking. Great effort in stakes race last start to place. Have in your numbers.

Gifted stayer when he wants to be. Has tremendous ability when his mind is on the job and being 3rd up here over a trip he loves means he has to be considered. Hits the line very fast. Is on his home track too which should suit. Has claims.

Hasn’t raced well enough to win this for 2 years and looks safely held again.

Top chance. Back in October last year, she was well beaten over 2000m then at her next run, 14 days later, in the Gr 1 Caulfield Cup this trip, she ran her heart out finishing 2nd. Backed it up with a great 4th in the Melbourne Cup before spelling. Since the spell she has raced twice. Last start, ran a terrific 4th over 2000m behind Vauban and this race is…14 days later. Solid handicap staying mare who is in form and can run on, but at Gr 1, level, hmmm, maybe not so much. Still, she is honest.

Brilliant stayer. Is in career best form at the present moment, last start’s WFA win at Gr 1 level over 2000m from Lindermann and Sir Delius showing that. Has raced this trip 3 times, winning a Gr 1 and placing twice. Looks a standout and is on her home track also. Big, big show.
