Gr 1 – Empire Rose Preview

Is ready. Loves this track. Loves this trip and at this level, now 5th up, she looks locked in and should storm the fortress late. Big chance to win this. Already a multiple Gr 1 winner including here.

Smart mare who is super fit and loves this journey. Will get back and the track will suit her a great deal. Is a bona fide Gr 1 horse on her day and her 5th last start behind Ceolwulf where she ran the fastest last 600m in the race, was outstanding. Big show.

Top class on her day and is a multiple Gr 1 winner. Is 3rd up here after a nice 6th to Antino in the Gr 1 Toorak this trip last start. This journey may be a tad short now that she is fitter.

Drawn perfectly and is just so consistent and honest. Won here on a soft track 2 start back in the 1400m Blazer at Gr 2 level beating Miss Aria after sitting just behind the speed then last start led and was run down late when 2nd in the Gr 2 Tristarc over 1400m. Place show.

Has she been freshened for this or is this like her final Melbourne Cup trial? Hard to say because coming back from a good 4th in the Gr 1 Caulfield Cup over 2400m last start to a mile is a rarity. Has class on her side, is a Gr 1 winner, and can run home hard. Loves it wet.

Looks very hard to beat here as she will get a dream run on the fence with cover and travel in about 4th spot from the get-go. Last start was 4th home beaten 3/4 length in the $1m Gr 3 Silver eagle over 1500m. Had run on hard for 4th in the Gr 1 Manikato the start prior. Distance suits and looks hard to beat.

Top class mare from WA who is in sparkling form. Is very honest too. Last start slugged it out all the way down the straight with a big bunch of star milers and ran 3rd in the Gr 1 Toorak. Had won over 1514m start prior beating Lady Jones in the Gr 2 Stocks at The Valley. Sure to be boxing away strongly late.

This is harder than last start when top weight and 14th for home before unleashing a powerhouse burst to win the Gr 3 Angst at Randwick over a mile. Is 3rd up here and has won 5 races at this journey. Is peaking at the right time.

Very good South Aussie whose last 2 starts in Melbourne have been in strong stakes races. Both times she was comfortably held by Grinzinger Belle but did place in both races. May find this a little tough over the last 100m though.

Gr 1 winner at $101 in June over 2200m but was well beaten last start over 1400m behind Jimmysstar over 1400m in solid time when resuming. Normally likes to be very handy and battle away. This is strong so she may struggle 2nd up.

Smart on her day and is very fit. Likes it here. Three runs back led all the way here over 1400m in the Gr 2 Let’s Elope winning by 4 lengths. Last start at Caulfield over a mile in the Gr 3 Vase carried big weight, went to the front and stayed there winning from Private Legacy. Always leads and is tough. Has claims if left alone.

Seems to have come back a very smart horse if last start win at $18 over Revolutionary Miss on a soft track over 1400m is anything to go by. Has won up to 2000m. This is a strong field but she’s drawn well and may just get a very cushy run. Place show.

Interesting runner. Is a 6 year old with just 7 starts under her belt but the way she finished over the top of Royal Champion in the Crystal mile last week to win says she is flying. And, she is 3rd up here. Perfecly drawn too. I see her sitting about 3rd to the bend and if she gets out in time, will look the winner at some stage. Respect her.
