- Randwick - Race 9
- (2400M)
- April 6, 2024
1. Riff Rocket (10)
Top class multiple Gr 1 winning 3YO. He is the best of his generation and he is back better than ever. Stormed home to win Gr 1 Rosehill Guineas over 2000m last start. Finished hard to win the Gr 1 VRC Derby over 2500m last spring. Is just so genuine and talented and runs home hard. Looks the testing material.

Proven Winner
2. Tom Kitten (3)
Last spring with Adam Hyeronimus in the saddle he stormed down the centre of the track to easily win the Gr 1 Champion Stakes over 2000m at this track beating Cap Ferrat. He has not won a race in 4 attempts since but jockey, ‘Hippo’ returns to ride him again. Was unlucky in fast run Gr1 randwick Guineas over a mile 2 starts back. poor run last start but should be forgiven.

3. Ceolwulf (5)
is bred to stay and is very close to a win. was beaten just over a length in the 1600m Gr 1 Guineas here then last start charged to the lead before being grabbed on the line by Riff Rocket in the Gr 1 Rosehill Guineas over 2000m. Super fit now, is back to best and this journey will suit. big danger.

4. Cap Ferrat (7)
Has raced 12 times and is still a maiden but what a classy maiden. He has twice run placings at Gr 1 level. Latest was when solid 3rd to Riff Rocket and Ceolwulf in the 2000m Gr 1 Rosehill Guineas. Sat just behind speed all the way and looked winner at one stage. Getting this trip at this level looms as one of his biggest issues but he can run.

5. Ganbare (1)
Good galloper who is getting stronger each start. probably leads this field and here on home track if he is left alone he will kick off the bend and will take catching. Led and was beaten 1.3 lengths last start in the Gr 1 Rosehill Guineas. Has claims.

6. Immediacy (13)
Had won his first 3 starts in Victoria in great fashion then came to Sydney and was on speed in 2nd spot until home turn in the Gr 1 Rosehill Guineas over 2000m. Was only beaten 1.4 lengths but this extra 400m may be a worry.

Good on Soft
7. Wymark (14)
ha just exploded onto the scene with wins at his past 4 starts, latest when simply too strong late last week in the Gr 2 Tulloch stakes over 2000m in good time. Gives the impression nothing scares him, and no distance is a concern. Goes even better when it is wet. Must be very strongly fancied and connections paid a $44,000 late entry fee to be in this race.

Proven Winner
8. Noisy Boy (8)
Is a player here even though two runs back at $101 he was 5th over 1500m in the Gr 2 Phar Lap Stakes. Last week made good ground late when a solid closing 2nd to the boom horse Wymark. Gives the impression this trip is perfect and quick back up probably suits. Has claims.

9. Glad You Think So (4)
Will be long odds and deserves to be following average runs past few including a plodding 7th to Wymark last week over 2000m. not keen.

10. Adagio (11)
Won his two races in the bush latest in handy time over 2000m at Canberra. this is much harder but does get up on the speed and will be thereabouts until they turn.
-
Good on Soft
11. Zenmaster (9)
Provincial galloper who also gets up on the speed but will fold under pressure when they turn for home.

12. Hooligan Tommy (12)
Nicely bred maiden who has failed to win in 7 starts. Near speed but plodded when 3rd provincial maiden 1800m last start. Not likely.
