Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews Wednesday’s Kensington meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 8 races. Good luck, punters!
Track Condition: Good 4
Rail Position: True entire
STARMAN hasn’t raced yet but is showing a great deal of ability at home and although trials have been average on paper, the day Jay Mac rode him he responded and won. James rides him today. So that should be a good pointer. Must be included.
His stablemate UNICO has raced and was 2nd on debut in country Victoria. Races in the Winx silks so with Hughie on top may be worth having in your numbers.
TAIZAI was average on debut when 7th but did make some late headway. Expected to improve a great deal here.
MOUNT FUJI has raced three times to date all in this grade and has placed once. Does come to the races, as he has done, with a bit of a boom but yet to deliver. Resumes here with Jay Mac on top so all indications are he will fire up today. Watch market.
DA NANG STAR has raced just twice, on pace at first start and weakened then off the pace at Kembla this grade last start and ran on well for 2nd. May be on the improve. Looks ready to run boldly.
JADIDA has had foot on the till every start thus far. Has run on for a placing at past three starts before spell. Has been backed to win this first up. Big danger.
Tip: MOUNT FUJI
SHUFFLE UP just ran out of gas final 100m last start when 2nd but was game as he charged early in the straight. That was also in this grade. That’s two placings in a row and is super fit now. Must be considered. So on that score he has claims.
TERWILLIKER is out of form but is also down in grade. May well race on pace and that could ignite a flame inside. More than capable if mind is on the job.
NATABADHARADA must bob up one day and his last start 4th actually was a very solid effort. Races every week, picks up a cheque for connections, is tough and today he can place. Certain to be thereabouts.
Tip: SHUFFLE UP
Interesting race. Those who backed NO LAUGHING MATTER got very excited last start, in this grade, when she led around the home turn, kicked clear at $6 and looked home only to be grabbed late. Gets chance, now that she is fitter, to atone here.
CUELLIR has raced twice and as yet hasn’t tasted defeat. Admittedly they have been in easier races but the way he strode down the outside to win pulling away at Gosford last start suggests there is a racehorse here. Must be considered.
SEPOY STAR is interesting. This 3YO ran home like a veteran campaigner to win debut at Kembla last start but a widening margin. This is a lot tougher but they way she chimed in suggests this might be a handy filly.
These are tough races. Different winners every week. KOSCIUSKO is finally fit and being 3rd up into this he might just go to the front, set a solid tempo and keep going. If he runs like that again he can be in the finish.
SOAMI is 3rd up, has Hughie on top and he could win a broomstick these days. Hit line hard this class when 2nd last start and looks back better than ever. Respect.
EXPLOSIVE TRUTH is also ready. Is up in class but is also racing in great form getting stronger every start and is on a steep improvement curve. Is very fit and is trained here.
MATOWATAKPE is going to wonder what’s hit him having to lump 62kg here but he’s big, tough, in form and is down in class. Ran on fairly well from the back when 6th last start and did win two starts back. Mid-race tempo this time won’t be as hard and he is fitter.
KMATTERHORN is on the march and has won three of past four starts. Is up in class but looks smart. Extremely well backed overnight.
The way SCENIC WARRIOR chimed in late to win a slightly easier race last start suggests he is a horse on the rise. That was first-up so should be even fitter now.
Tip: SCENIC WARRIOR
INVINCIANO is getting up in the weights now but she belongs in this grade and has won before. Is very fit and no doubt from this gate will drive forward and lead. Watch betting.
MISS EINSTEIN has found form again and she can hit the line hard when right. Did that last start and when a mare is in form…
NELSPRUIT is talented and near pace yet fought back gamely this grade last start when 3rd, his 4th placing on the bounce. Is on home track and is extremely fit now. Drawn well and looms large.
EXOTIC RUBY hasn’t won this campaign from six starts but has been right there at the end of each race. Off the inside gate with Jay Mac riding and in a winnable race, that may all change. Drawn the fence and looms large.
ROSA MOYESSI just keeps clearing whatever challenge is put in front of her. Has won two of past three and just keeps improving. This is tough but how can you go past her form?
FORTUNE SEEKER is down in grade here following a very poor effort last start. It was in the mud and she just seemed to give up. Is much better than that and the track is harder today.
