Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at today’s race meetings and singles out his top three horse racing tips from the nation’s capital on  Canberra. Good luck, punters!

Interesting encounter. View with caution though. This $2.10 fav LAMINGTON DRIVE is a gunna horse. A herd horse. And they are always a danger in getting rolled. He has raced 16 times and placed 10 times, winning just once. He has city midweek talent but just doesn’t seem to go past the leader. But here, in this race, on his recent form, he is absolutely thrown in and should win by a minute. But will he? His only win was in March last year when he bobbed and won by a nose. He’s been placed at BM 66 level since and that would win this easily. He is a real life conundrum in this but I’ll take $2.10 based on his overall talent.

Good race. I think this Luke Pepper trained mare AFFINITY BEYOND is pretty special for these parts. She is very fast and they are hoping she can carry her speed over 1400m so she can compete in the Country Championships. But that’s down the track. Here in this she is over the scamper trip and from this great draw she looks to jump to the front and lead all the way. NEVADA DANE finishes hard and can run 2nd.

I liked mapping this race. I think this locally trained mare MORE SHOTS will land the bickies today. She gets back and runs on and is resuming here. Now, I know she’s had quite a few failures but there was something in the way she just picked up the bridle and charged through the line in her barrier trial the other day that suggests she is flying. Awkward draw not a real issue as she will drop out. Watch her late. Quinella bet is HAYYU.
