Our top form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at today’s race meetings and singles out his top three horse racing tips from Hawkesbury and the ‘Bool this afternoon.

This is a race worth watching. COAL CRUSHER who was a strong finishing 2nd on debut last start over 900m in this grade, gets an extra 200m to deal with and has more fitness on his side. Off this good inside draw I see him sucking up into about 3rd spot on the chewy and then as they turn a run will present itself. The experience from his debut effort will help him, plus he’s tightened up a bit so is fitter too. PENOPERA should be there battling away fro 2nd so that’s the quinella. saying that, the unrated IMPOSING BEAU has been smashed overnight and further watching of his popularity needs to be done.

There isn’t much between CAPTIVARE who is trained by Chris Waller and QUIET MICHAEL, also trained by Mr Waller. This looks to me to be a standout quinella bet. Captivare is taking a long while to win a race which is a bit of a worry considering his pattern is suggesting he’s a possible herd horse. But he is always there at the end and hasn’t missed a place in three runs this grade this time up.

BIT OF A LAD hasn’t raced since about this time last year but when he was racing, he was thrashing fields like this. he does have to lump a huge weight here, he carries 5kg more than any other horse but he has won with 72kg in the past. Is trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace. He has recently trialled over the sticks and placed both times. GEORETHEFIFTH also trialled in those trials and was ahead so throw him in for 2nd. Track is wet and Bit Of A Lad has tremendous wet track stats.
