Corowa R2 – Mdn Hcp 900m
This should be a helter-skelter affair. Gates play a big role especially at this tight little track. So I’m on WILFUL SPIRIT here. She doesn’t have dynamic pace so probably settles along the fence back in about 4th spot to the bend. Then just needs to find clear air. If so, should win. Past few runs have been getting her ready for this and last start pacing when drawing off the track was an excellent pipe-opener for today’s assignment. MASTER KOSTYA is talented enough at this level too. They look the quinella for me.
Corowa R3 – Cl 2 Hcp 1000m
I’m on ILOVETHEGAME in this and that’s because I think he might be the best runner. He resumes here and won’t know himself after the claim. Was showing talent certainly up to this level anyway when last in work. Did run a great 4th after leading in the Albury Guineas. That was at 1400m. Shorter, sharper trip here isn’t ideal but to counter that he has great first-up stats so probably settles about 6th, one off, and comes home hard. MISS ELSIE MAY looked good winning first-up and has claims too. Quinella them both.
Tip: ILOVETHEGAME @ $3.30
Corowa R5 – Maiden Hcp 1400m
I’m generally not a fan of herd horses, those that follow the leader, but sometimes they just look impossible to go past. ONE MAN BAND is that horse today. He’s been a major disappointment thus far – well-bred, but after 16 starts still no wins. has run placings at his past six starts though all in this grade so he has his foot on the till. Drawn the fence today and that to me is significant because he hasn’t been on the rails as yet. Is very fit.
