Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at today’s race meetings and singles out his top three horse racing tips from Goulburn and Wyong this afternoon.

There does seem to be a lot to like about the number one horse here in SPICY RESTAURANT. he is 3rd up so presents supremely fit. He has placed at both his runs this grade since resuming. Nobody in the land is riding any better than his jock, Keagan Latham, at present and on top of all that, the horse on past performances appears the best credentialed. Should make a mess of this. Bound to charge late.

Interesting race. I know that there has been a lot of money for the unrated pair of QUATENUS and CHALEUR BAY, but gee it is hard to go past the forgotten horse, the toppie SHADOW COLOUR. I’m tipping, while fresh and first-up today, that he jumps and pings straight onto the bunny. Around Wyong, especially on a very heavy track, that style of racing is gold. And he has shown in the past that he handles the mud as well, placing at this level on 3 occasions. Just looks a good bet to me at around the $4 mark.

Oh, I do think today is the day we see a great battle late in the piece between two Newcastle gallopers, the enigmatic SAMMY and the wet track star SAQUON. Both big boys have talent, and Sammy is the son of former champion Samantha Miss. Both are third up today and on the same weight. Saquon’s maiden win was at provincial level in the mud and he won easily. Sammy, when 2nd up, was beaten but not that badly in town last start. Should be a close fought battle, I’ll quinella the pair but I have a leaning towards…..Sammy!
