Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at today’s race meetings and singles out his top three horse racing tips from Port Macquarie and – he is confident. Good luck, punters!

I just love it when a horse drops back in grade. And in the top weight here OSLO we see that. He’s had a few trainers in his 4 years as a racehorse but Nathan Doyle at Newcastle has him now. And he did win with him there weeks back at Scone when he just sat off the pace and powered past them to win easily. Went to provincial level 2nd up and did not fire a shot but is down in grade here. Gets a weight relief too. LORD JOHN GREY resumes but has talent.  Is the obvious danger.

Interesting race. The 2YO BUCK PHAROAH has been strongly supported overnight based on his two great races to date. Both times he wound up 2nd after hitting the wire hard. But I like this unraced filly EXCELNESS. She was cantering all the way when narrowly winning a trial and the horse who ran 2nd, Pandora Blue, has since won two in a row. Looks very fast. Wet track is a worry but these speedy types tend to get through it.

Not sure if the heavy track is going to blunt the finish of CONTINUATION here but he does look the one to me. Today he is 4th up and as a stayer, a stout stayer at that, he has needed the runs to get him in top shape. Ran 5th in the mud at Newcastle last start in what was a slightly tougher race. I’m banking on his fitness to get him home today. FIREFLY POPPY is in great form and can snag 2nd.  Quinella bet for sure.
