Wyong R1 – Open (4YO+) Mdn Hcp 1100m
You really need to follow the money trail when you see it and it does look like there is stable confidence in this Kiwi galloper ROCKAMO. He is having just his 3rd race start and his first here in Australia today with Grant Buckley to ride. Two weeks back he easily won a barrier trial and his NZ form was sound, with his last start being a 3rd in this grade over 1200m. The fact he can run and has been backed makes him worth following. Toss in EM CEE GEE who has foot on till and you have your quinella also.
Tip: ROCKAMO @ $2.40
Wyong R3 – Mdn Hcp 1600m
This looks a good betting race. A few hopes will attract money but gee I do think CARLISLE BAY stands out. He comes into this as having drawn absolutely perfectly which means he will park in 3rd spot behind the pace with cover from the get go. He also boasts a good record of late having placed in four of his past five starts, all in provincial level maidens. Doesn’t’t have to travel far for the race and is extremely fit. Perhaps KOUKLARA who is on the improve can run 2nd. Quinella them.
Tip: CARLISLE BAY @ $3.70
Wyong R7 – BM68 Hcp 1600m
Terrific race to end the day. Big if here. IF UNRELENTING resists the urge to contest the lead with EDGE OF DARKNESS, choosing instead to take a sit behind him, then I think he will over power the leader down the running. Always a concern when two natural front-runners lock horns in a race. Unrelenting was beaten 30 lengths last start after leading in a very strong BM72. This is easier and I tend to think it was the heavy track last start and not the grade that brought him undone. Firmer surface is a big help today.
