Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at today’s meetings and singles out his top three horse racing tips from Warrnambool & Kembla. Good luck, punters!
The toppie here OVERTHINK might be a bit of an emerging staying talent. He’s had four starts and won just the one time, which was his most recent outing, but he won it with gusto and just accelerated away at the end of 2100m. It was a maiden but he beat a subsequent provincial winner which franked the form. A couple of these can stay too but they have proven to be a tad inconsistent. So if he finds cover or even drives to the lead and runs them into the ground, he looks the one to beat.
It has been both several months and quite a few runs since CAFE TORTONI got the chocolates but that all might end today. He fronts up for this coming off a couple of nice efforts when on pace and 3rd in this grade at Geelong, then on a wet track, sitting back and running on for 4th. Looking at the grades of the respective races, it appears his Geelong 3rd was in a race that had more depth in this. So I see him parking in about 5th spot then, if he’s had cover he can make a late charge. GENNADY could be the quinella bet.
Tip: CAFE TORTONI
I think this 3YO NYAMI, even though he’s stepping up in class, might be fairly handy. This is just his 4th race start and he did win a maiden last start by being on pace and proving way too classy late. Hardest to beat could be his old stablemate ZARZOU who has a new trainer now and who also is a last start winner. But Nyami has the draw to be in this without spending too much gas early.
