Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at today’s race meetings and singles out his top three horse racing tips from Gosford on a Soft 6 this afternoon.

What a chess match this race is. Can most likely find value as most of these will be backed but talking of betting, the one favoured overnight was STAR CHERIE. She firmed up quite a bit as money started coming. This will be her 2nd start this time up and she looks well in. On speed in the city when resuming over 1100m last start, and wilted final stages when beaten 3 lengths. This is a deep field but not a better one and the shorter trip suits. Is fitter now too and drawn perfectly.  Can lead all the way. Let’s hope so.

I do like horses who have displayed talent while fresh. SKYRAY is one of those and he has the added advantage of being good on soft tracks too. Which he gets here. Should drop to the tail from this gate and as a BM 64 race, it isn’t all that strong. I see him rallying out wide late and at big odds swamping them. He’s won 5 races and has the same weight as FINALLY REALISE who just broke maiden grade last start. Quinella them but I do like Skyray to win.

I do think we may have found one here in the shape of the honest mare MISS JAY FOX. She has been given a task of late having raced a few times but does drop in class for this assignment and off this draw she looms large. Slightly slow away last start and her racing pattern was upset yet she still ran a courageous 5th, beaten 3 lengths. Second home that day, Fastconi, won handsomely in town yesterday. Enough said.
