Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at today’s race meetings and singles out his top three horse racing tips from Mudgee and Wagga this afternoon.
This looks a competitive race. ANOTHER SONETTE is a herd horse and a complete frustration to his owners – 39 starts no wins and a stack of placings. Probably runs a place here too. For the win, I think KEEN IDEA looks the one. On debut over 1100m at this track he made good ground late on debut to run 5th, but was beaten less than a length. The mid race tempo of this will not be as hard to he should be able to find a nice spot around 5th then with natural improvement and from the great experience he has already had he should carve out a victory.
Tip: KEEN IDEA
This looks a competitive race. Top trainer Bjorn Baker saddles two of them here and both are well placed. They are CALIFORNIAN and LAKE TAI.I’m on Californian in this because he won a maiden this trip, then went up in class and trip and from a Good track to a soft track. He led and he tried hard but just found everything too hard the last 200m. Back in class a bit and to the trip he likes. Watch him improve.
This looks a competitive race. But also has that typical Wagga Flying look about it. It is actually the Town Plate Prelude and is full of speedsters and back markers. By this stage of the day I think those who finish off may be best served so I’m on UP TRUMPZ. He hasn’t won for a long time but he’s fit and he is down to a winning weight. Beware of him late.
