Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at today’s meetings and singles out his top three horse racing tips from Coffs Harbour &  Dubbo. Good luck, punters!

Rob Potter has scratched his boom mare Scalded from later in the day but is still driving 4 hours to Dubbo to send MORE SHOTS around in this race. He has had the horse for a few weeks after it had been racing in Qld. After changing the training up with mostly swimming, we might see a fresh horse just go bang today. Was placed at Doomben earlier this year over a mile so the trip and grade aren’t issues today.

The topweight here DREAMING OF BISCAY looks thrown in here. She is 3rd up, she has a 2kg weight allowance which pretty much makes her a weighted special and she is simply better than her rivals. Won a BM 68 with 56kg when resuming. Came home like a train that day from a mile back over 1100m. Anyway, should settle into about 4th spot on the rails and just needs a gap at the top of the lane.

This is a fascinating race. Five scratchings, all of them had big hopes but most had drawn wide and this is not a track you can win from when drawn wide. There are quite a few aiming up for shots at the Country Champs heats in Feb and March next year, so there is little wonder it is a very strong Cl 2. And $50,000 is a pretty attractive purse today too. Saying all that, Cameron Crockett’s mare ARE YOU DREAMING resumes here with a 2kg allowance. She has pace and will drive forward to off-set her awkward draw but she is potent when fresh. FARMER’S FRIEND looks exciting too but has drawn off the track. He may have to go back and then come late. Terrific contest this one.
