Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews Wednesday’s Warwick Farm meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 7 races. Good luck, punters!
Track Condition: Soft 5
Rail Position: out 5m from the 1000m to the w/p, then 3m the rest
What an interesting race. SLEIPNER on debut was 3rd in what has proven to be a handy maiden. Then he came to NSW. He blew from $3 to start at $5 when 3rd at Wyong. Looks to be fitter and settled now. Should run well.
CAPTIVARE is more than handy but what can you say? He has placed at 7 of his past 8 starts in this grade. He was runner-up last start in probably a stronger race, and has the ideal draw. Is very fit. Will be running home hard.
ALIGHTED has found her mojo also placing at her past two. She is adaptable so can be on speed or sit out the back and make a run.
VERNE has drawn wide but that isn’t a major issue with just one turn on this track at this trip. And his first-up run was a cracker in what was a strong 2YO. If Hughie can get him to even find cover and gallop within himself, which he is a master at doing, this bloke appeals the most. Big show.
MONTENEGRO is unraced but is owned by some big-hitters in this town and Jay Mac has the mount. Did win a recent trial. Be wary.
Kris Lees brings a speedy filly with talent to this tough 2YO race. Her name is MISS IN CHARGE and she has run just behind the placegetters at both her starts to date, significantly, both at stakes level. Keep an eye on her.
LAW PARTY is pretty quick and being fresh and first-up here means he probably just jumps and runs. Will be hard to catch.
ELECTRIC is unraced but has trialled very comfortably. Watch market. Big show.
PRESSITA has been runner-up at this level at past 2 runs and is 2nd up here so strips fitter. Has strong claims.
Tip: LAW PARTY
INVINCIBLE LAD did best in what was perhaps a career best run to win a similar race when leading all the way 2 runs back. May well have turned a corner and Tommy Berry is a big help in this. That run should be fully wound up now and he loves it damp.
INVINCIBLE KISS is on a roll and has won two on the bounce. Gets a 3kg weight allowance here. That is extremely helpful. Big show. NIKOHLI BEAGLE resumes here but was a rising star when last in work winning 3 on the bounce. Watch the betting.
REMLAPS GEM is going to take holding out. Comes into the 3rd up after two nice runs in this grade, placing on one occasion. Is very fit, has Hughie on top and rates highly.
Tip: INVINCIBLE KISS
Good betting race. Being drawn on the fence and 3rd up makes CAFE ROYAL a big player in this. She led a much stronger field until her condition gave out 150m from home and was beaten 3 lengths. Looks perfectly place and will be very hard to beat.
YANGARRA ROSE is a model of consistency. First-up she was a strong 3rd in a similar race and just has to be a lot fitter this time. Drawn perfectly here too.
SUR LA MER is up a fair way in class here but she did win her maiden last start in great style. May find this hard over the last 100m but she will acquit herself well. Seems very honest and drawn well enough.
Tip: CAFE ROYAL
MEDIA STARGUEST looks nicely placed. The 3YO gets back and runs on hard, but always does that so don’t panic if he’s out the back door. Did win a BM 72 two runs back before stepping up to 3YO stakes grade and running on hard for 4th. Should be flying home again.
BETHENCOURT has his big grey foot on the till. He’s ready to rumble now that he is 3rd up. Last start was a solid 3rd in this very grade at Kensington when beaten less than a length. He strips considerably fitter this time. Can atone and is well placed.
POULTON LE SANDS bobs up every now and then when not expected. This may be one of those days as he is 2nd up. Big show.
Tip: MEDIA STARGUEST
The draw and the 3kg weight allowance bring ZELL right into contention here. He consistently runs boldly at this level, has in fact been honest all the way through the grades, and his last start 3rd when 2nd up was a ripper. Rates highly.
REINVEST is one of the last sons of Redoute’s Choice racing and sadly he has been gelded. Because he has talent and if he has come on from his debut campaign he might crush these. Won two of three that first campaign, only defeat was on a Saturday over 2000m on a heavy track in a BM 74. Recently won a trial and suited to this journey. Great show.
CADENABBIA resumed from a spell in a weaker race and was very strong late winning it. Sure to be handy. Place.
